Management of the General Partner

 

In 1980, Mr. Steinberg co-founded the San Francisco law firm of Flynn & Steinberg, specializing in real estate, banking, venture capital and taxation. In later years, Mr. Steinberg devoted his efforts to conflict resolution for private corporate clients and “pro bono” efforts in the area of Family Law and Estates to foster collaborative mediation.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Steinberg also acted as General Counsel and Corporate Vice-President to Itel Corporation, a public company engaged in heavy marine construction, railroad operations, ship and container leasing.
Mr. Steinberg has been a managing partner and General Counsel of GMG Securities, an asset management firm, as well as Vice-Chairman of European-American Securities, a private merchant Bank.
In 2013, Mr. Steinberg became a founding partner of the Telluride Venture Fund LP, a partnership formed to speed development and commercialization of paradigm shifting seed in early-stage technology companies primarily in the Southwestern United States (the “Colorado Plateau”), with an emphasis on outdoor recreation, tourism, natural products, health , energy, water and education.
Mr. Steinberg has served as a director of the California Real Estate Investment Trust, the Kimpton Hotel Group, The Saul Zaentz Film Company, and Performance Health Technologies. He is currently a Director of the Saul Zaentz Charitable Foundation.
His civic activities included active duty in the United States Navy, the Chairmanship of the San Francisco Art Institute as well as Trusteeships at the Urban High School of San Francisco, the Wright Institute (Berkeley, California) High Desert Discovery District (“HD3”), an independent non-profit organization committed to identifying and commercializing technology innovation.
Mr. Steinberg resides in Telluride, Colorado and is a native of San Francisco. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of California (Berkeley) and his JD degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California (Berkeley). He is an active member of the California Bar Association.
